Savaging Europe
It’s been over three years since I studied abroad in Rome; an experience that began as a split second decision to step outside my comfort zone and ended with the realization of what I wanted to do with my life.
I never had imagined that traveling with Bus2alps to the Amalfi Coast, Greece, and Interlaken during my semester abroad would lead me to where I am now: a proud manager for the very company I once traveled with myself.
While I have been fortunate enough to travel all thoughout Europe with my job, I often looked back on my study abroad semester before coming to work for Bus2alps and wondering why I didn’t travel smarter. I regreted racking up a 300 euro phone bill during my 21st birthday away in Barcelona and not being able to afford a weekend to London because of it. I regreted having never seen the Eiffel Tower. I regretted spending my entire 10 day spring beak in only one country. Most of all, I regretted never making it to Eastern Europe.
So that all of you have no regrets, I have created my ideal travel schedule. That is, if I could go back and do it all again, this is exactly what I would do and where I would travel:
January 28th: Interlaken, Switzerland
This was one of my absolute favorite trips as a student. I went snowboarding, night sledding, and rocked out at the Metro Bar in the basement of our hostel.
February 2nd: Paris, France
You already know you want to go to Paris during your semester abroad, so why not go this weekend when Barcelona’s hottest nightclub promoters, De Lis Group, will be hosting a special VIP event for all Bus2alps guests?!
February 16th: Barcelona, Spain
The first place I ever traveled when I was abroad was Barcelona. However, I went on my own and not with Bus2alps. The city was so big and overwhelming that I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and ended up eating at Subway, an Irish Pub, and some gross Chinese Buffet. Traveling there on my own left a bad taste in my mouth but now that I live there, I absolutely LOVE it. I recommend going with Bus2alps to get the full cultural experience and having leaders such as myself who actually live there and can show you around. Not to mention, Bus2alps has the hook up at the best nightclubs in Barcelona thanks to De Lis Group!
February 19th: Carnival in Sitges, Spain
For those of you studying in Barcelona, this all night party is a must! For those of you coming to Barcelona that weekend with Bus2alps, why not extend your stay an extra night and experience this massive all night celebration?! Just don’t forget to pack a crazy colorful wig and outfit! (I’ll be wearing a massive rainbow wig to it this year!)
February 23rd: Morocco
This is one of the most amazing trips Bus2alps has to offer. How cool would it be to visit another continent during your semester abroad, go sandboarding, and ride a camel? Yes please!!!
March 8th: Amsterdam, Netherlands
This is another trip I did on my own when I was a student. I had a blast but my friend and I got stuck in a hostel room with about 15 stoner dudes. I would have rather just gone with Bus2alps and roomed with friends from the trip.
March 15: The Eastern Loop Spring Break – Budapest, Krakow, Prague, Munich
I never made it to any of these cities while I was abroad, and like I said, not seeing Eastern Europe was one of my biggest regrets, as was spending my entire spring break in just one country. Don’t make things hard on yourself trying to plan out your spring break to all over Europe – let us take care of that!
April 5th: Greece Long Weekend – Corfu, Greece
Booze cruises, world famous Pink Palace and a toga party. Enough said.
April 12th: The Amalfi Coast of Italy – Sorrento, Capri, Postitano, Pompeii
This was the first trip I ever did with Bus2alps and it was absolutely incredible. I’ll never regret for one second going on this trip, not only because of how fun and beautiful it was, but because it led me to where I am right now!
April 26th: Munich Springfest – Munich, Germany
You may have missed Oktoberfest this past fall, but you won’t want to miss Springfest! Grab you leiderhosen and get ready to drink, drink, drink!!
10 countries in one semester?! Doesn’t sound too bad, does it?!
